The Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR) Course is designed to train participants to save lives of victims in cardiac arrest through high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) both in-and out-of-hospital settings.
Concepts covered include:
- Chain of Survival
- Adult, child, and infant CPR utilizing the C-A-B sequence
- Use of a Bag-Valve-Mask device
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator
- Relief of Choking
This course is intended for all persons who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in- and out-of hospital settings.
Full Course is 4 1/2 hours and requires the Basic Life Support Provider Manual. BLS Renewal Class is 2 hours and requires a caaa current BLS card and the Basic Life Support Provider Manual.
Exam: Skills covering BLS performance, including adult, child, infant, and use of an AED. Written score of 84% on multiple choice test.
