Vascular Services

Our accredited vascular services specialize in diseases of the arteries and veins. These diseases are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. Our vascular surgeons are trained in the diagnosis and management and treatment of diseases affecting all parts of the vascular system.

Our vascular services include:

  • Carotid endarterectomy
  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (open and endovascular)
  • Endovascular bypass/limb salvage bypass
  • Iliac artery angioplasty and stenting
  • Vena cava filter placement
  • Renal artery angioplasty or surgery

The Johnson City Medical Center Vascular Center is proud to be the only multi-disciplinary team of expert vascular, open heart, peripheral artery and endovascular surgeons in our region.

Vascular Surgery

Vascular surgery provides treatment for vascular and venous conditions such as aneurysms and carotid artery blockages, peripheral vascular and venous diseases.

Vein Center

Vascular surgery is a type of surgery that is performed on the arteries and veins that lie outside the heart.

Niswonger Children’s Hospital opens new Special Care Unit designed to care for babies with NAS

On Tuesday, May 23, administration at Niswonger Children’s Hospital announced the opening of the new Special Care Unit, an area of the hospital dedicated to caring for babies with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) and other special needs. The Special Care Unit is in response to the region-wide epidemic of babies with NAS. Mountain States chosen to lead new, innovative program aimed at improving the health of communities in Virginia

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Mountain States Health Alliance is one of only 32 organizations in the country that were chosen recently to be part of the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) new program aimed at improving the health of Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Life-saving sepsis initiative by Mountain States, Johnston Memorial Hospital team wins national award

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. & ABINGDON, Va. – A collaborative project launched by clinical teams at Johnston Memorial Hospital and Mountain States Health Alliance has earned national recognition from the Society of Hospital Medicine.
