Poplar Unit is an inpatient treatment unit that provides acute detoxification from chemicals while being medically supervised.

Mountain States Hospice looking for volunteers; training sessions set in Johnson City, Lebanon in March

Mountain States Hospice is holding two-day volunteer training workshops in Johnson City, Tenn., on March 22-23 and in Lebanon, Va., on March 27-28. Hospice focuses on patients in the last phases of life and provides loving support and care for them and their families. Hospice volunteers work directly and/or indirectly with hospice patients and their loved ones. Southwest Virginia hospitals host heart-healthy community events in conjunction with American Heart Month

To raise awareness of cardiovascular disease and promote healthy communities, Johnston Memorial Hospital, Russell County Medical Center and Smyth County Community Hospital are hosting events Feb. 13, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24 aimed at helping people achieve better heart health.
