Green Oak Behavioral Health grows to meet the region’s needs

Alzheimer’s is one of the many conditions treated at the Green Oak Behavioral Health unit, which focuses on senior citizens and the elderly. Green Oak started out with five beds, but – due to the growing need in the region – recently doubled its capacity, and is now at 10 beds. Mountain States Foundation announces three Don Brewer Scholarship recipients for 2016

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Mountain States Foundation has awarded three Don Brewer Scholarships to support individuals going to school to pursue a career in health care. The scholarships, for $2,000 each, are funded by the family of the late Don Brewer, who worked for the Realty Trust Group on many Mountain States Health Alliance projects. Recipients must be residents of Mountain States' 29-county service area and be active team members of Mountain States or the dependent of an active team member. Dickenson Community Hospital, located in Clintwood, Virginia, is licensed for 25-beds but operates as a 1-bed critical access not-for-profit hospital owned by Norton Community Hospital.

The hospital campus includes a 5,700 square foot physician office building for Dickenson Medical Associates. From check-ups, to colds, to chronic illness management, the providers at DMA can take care of the medical needs of patients of all ages and walk ins are accepted.
